Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of abilities, which included the ability perform, direct, produce, write plays as well as teach and serve as Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna Silk was born to a British father and an British-born Turkish Cypriot mother. As a young girl, she appeared in a variety of commercials.
